IGBC Visits New German and Swiss Consul Generals

This September, IGBC visited Chicago to meet with the newly appointed Consul Generals of Germany and Switzerland. Indiana is home 121 German companies and 58 Swiss companies.

Michael Ahrens took up his position as Consul General of Germany in Chicago in August 2023. Before arriving in Chicago he served as Minister Counselor for Security and Defense Policy at the German Embassy in Washington, DC. Prior to that he was the Deputy Head of Division for Humanitarian Assistance at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin from 2015 to 2019.

Pascal Bornoz was appointed Consul General of Switzerland in Chicago this Summer. Mr. Bornoz previously served as Consul General of Switzerland in Lyon, France from 2019 to 2023. Prior to his appointment in France, Mr. Bornoz served as Regional Coordinator for the Middle East from 2014 to 2016 and as Deputy Regional Coordinator for North Africa from 2011 to 2014.
