German Wine Queens Visit Indiana

The Indiana-Germany Business Council was delighted to welcome Jessica Himmelsbach, Wine Princess of Germany, and Julia Noll, Wine Queen of Baden, to Indianapolis on February 6th and 7th. These Deutsche Weinköniginnen serve as industry ambassadors to promote German wines throughout the world. The Wine Queens began their time in Indianapolis by stopping by WISH-TV’s Life.Style.Live! broadcast to share more about German wines and to promote their visit.

After a lunch at the Heidelberg Haus, the women toured 8th Day Distillery to learn about the urban distillery and the growth of the spirits industry in Indiana. The Queens ended the day at the Athenaeum Foundation for the organization’s Weingeist event, which brought together 40 community members and wine connoisseurs.

The following day, the delegation headed north to join Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam, a German delegation led by George Link MdB, and community leaders for a lunch gathering. After lunch, the Wine Queens toured the Carmel Christkindlmarkt grounds before heading to a reception at Tastings Indianapolis with 75 leaders comprised of The International Center’s Morris Series cohorts, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College’s Global Leadership Program and IGBC Members.
