IGBC Hosts Business Conference & Reception with Indianapolis Colts

On May 22nd, IGBC hosted its first in-person Business Conference with Barnes & Thornburg in downtown Indianapolis. With more than 125 joining throughout the day, the Conference focused on Indiana’s bilateral business opportunities with Germany and Switzerland.

The event began with welcome remarks by Andrea Richter-Garry (Senior Vice President, IEDC) and David Rosenberg (Secretary of Commerce, State of Indiana) before Dr. Tuan Nguyen (Economist, RSM US LLP) gave a presentation on “Boosting Economic Growth: Prepare for The Impact of Lowering Policy Rates.”

Michael Ahrens (Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany) and Pascal Bornoz (Consul General, Swiss Confederation) both gave keynote addresses summarizing the business opportunities for Hoosier companies in Germany and Switzerland respectively.

The first of our panel discussions was on Transatlantic Business Opportunities and featured Deborah Pollack-Milgate (Partner, Barnes & Thornburg), Wendy Krause (Midwest Director, Heidelberg Materials), Jan Wiedemann (Senior Director, IEDC), and Aryan Zandieh (CEO, NRW.Global Business N.A.) discussing on how companies are navigating international trade and business.

With a new regional workforce program being implemented from Switzerland to central Indiana, our last panel focused on the Future of Workforce & Apprenticeship in Indiana and featured Pascal Bornoz (Consul General, Swiss Confederation), Robert Head (Apprentice Manager, Endress+Hauser), and Kate Pangallo (Senior Director, Indy Partnership).

The event concluded with a networking reception and raffle giveaway with the Indianapolis Colts including Roger VanDerSnick (Chief Marketing & Sales Officer), Stephanie Pemberton (Vice President, Marketing), Marcel Dabo (#42 Safety), and Blue (Mascot Extraordinaire).
